THE NEW ISSUE OF CAVER MAGAZINE IS NOW OUT….
TAKING THE ROUGH WITH THE SMOOTHCome with us to the fair island of Puerto Rico for Sharpy’s exclusive first hand account of the week that rocked pro surfing to its core: mind-melting surfing, more drama than you can shake a stick at, the loss of an all-time great and the historic crowning of King Kelly…
GILMORE FOURThe happiest surfer, possibly person, in the whole world goes by the name of Stephanie Gilmore. She now has four world titles and is a legend in her own short lifetime. (ps: This article was not just a flimsy excuse to run a photo of her looking extremely hot either!)
THE SUPERLATIVESorry for being utterly and totally predictable but you didn’t really think you’d get away without a Kelly retrospective feature in this issue did you? The Bald One has hit his milestone, the elusive tenth title. Read on to find out how he got there and what he’ll do next (maybe!) Ben Mondy got the champ on the blower for a grilling…
CHASING SECRETSTeam Smith, that’s Fergal and Mick to you, have been chasing ghosts in Ireland and finally scored one of those mythical, mysto spots that breaks just once a decade. It’s heavy, it’s eerie and we have no idea where it is, not even which county… so don’t ask!
THE CARVE AWARDSTake one pinch of salt, place tongue firmly in cheek and read the CARVE Awards. A collection of the greatest, crappest and weirdest happenings of 2010. Not to mention the heaviest surfing injury we have EVER seen.
THE CHRONICLES OF THE DAWN TREADERSMitch Corbett, The Gor, Josh Hughes, Tom Butler, Timmy Boydell and CARVE lensman Will Bailey have been out in the sticks exploring. Again we can’t say where… Somewhere north of France and west of Denmark is all we know. Suffice to say, as you’ll know from seeing the cover shot, they scored big time.A worldwide CARVE exclusive…
AN ODE TO THE SLABWe round off this issue of home grown exploration and world tour madness with a reflective look at those most spectacular of waves- slabs. All square barrelled and mad. We love them lots. They’re hard to master but awesome to look at… come see the crazy people try ride them.

Week four of the CARVE Surf Fitness Training Plan…

If you are not used to core training the plank will be a challenge. The Power stroke set will get your paddling muscles going and the swims are great all round. The burpees are great cardio and will increase your explosive jump up which is usually the first thing to suffer in the winter and can be a spoiler when you do catch waves.
